Re: JAMES A
Nigerian scammers profiles has several faults that we may not notice but they are there;
Bio: they are all god fearing, honest and in a lot of words they will explain why they are looking for a woman and how they are going to make her happy. Shortly they relate to Tagged and Facebook as another dating site.
They lost their wives (widowers) in many cases it’s a tragic event, and they have a kid or two to take care of (Note that the amount of kids may depend on the picture they succeeded to steal)
They are honest – this word will always be in the first sentence and will be repeated several times.
Hobbies: scammers believe that women are attracted to family related activity so camping will be there swimming and of course to be shown intellectual they love reading. actually reading their hobbies they seems quite boring people.
Many of the scammers don’t really understand the difference between the UK and the USA and they claim to grow in the UK but live in the USA they have no idea how rare it is.
Many of them will place Oxford as their university sometimes as high school even. They simply know one name so they use it.
General: Long bio is suspicious unless they are selling something online; most people won’t bother that much with the Bio.
Friends: small friends list mainly women with 1-2-3 networkers (that accept anyone) but almost always another faked profile or African which is in many cases the actual scammer.
The wall: many times contain sentences such as “i am waiting for my love”, ” love is the more important…” and things like that. It may also expose their current victim, the one they declare their love to or call her my wife. Look carefully and check who is the current cooperating woman she is probably the one to be scammed next.

Re: JAMES A
You might use the online systems to make contacts, with whoever.
BUT:
Don't fall in love online.
Don't send money to somebody you ever only met online.
Don't give out your visa / credit cards details online to people or companies you dont know.
Don't give out details of your bank account.
If you really believe, the person is real (after arranging a both ways webcam connection, and make sure it's not a video record) and you need to know her, get yourself in very detailed connection, where and how to meet. Go there yourself. Book a hotel for yourself, YOU YOURSELF. And don't tell the other person, which hotel.
Better - if possible - travel with a friend or person of confidence, and meet on a neutral public point like an airport for the first time.
Spend money only on yourself. You can show your - material and other - gratitude later, if you find out the person is worth it, after you met.
Well, from that time on it works as a normal relationship.
But make shure the online affair was only the first contact, until meeting in person.
Good luck.

Re: JAMES A
SCAMMERS
Scammers are mostly black guys from African countries like Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, and Kenya. They make profiles with the pictures of white guys and write romantic emails to European and North American women.
They win your trust after few months, you fall in love with them and start considering them as your future husband. They give you a phone number which starts with 44 (UK) followed by 70 and then few digits. That connects to Lagos, Nigeria. All women think 44 is the country code for UK so they start trusting the man after talking to him on the phone.
Then suddenly the story takes the tragic swing. Your would be husband informs you that he was robbed and assaulted in Nigeria during a business trip. The robbers took his wallet that included all his credit cards, cash, and phone book. He was wounded and brought to hospital. The hospital bill is 350 dollars, he has no money, and he needs your help. He asks for few hundred dollars. You send him the money then he disappears from internet.
Real men never write romantic emails the first time.
They never want to marry you just by seeing your profile. They never write ass-kissing emails saying you are their everything.
Scammers' profiles are new, they don’t last long because they either make money from some women or identified by some intelligent women and then cancel their profile
